Local Device Storage

Certain administrative records and communications may also be stored locally on an encrypted, password-protected Apple Mac device used exclusively for professional purposes. Access to this device is restricted solely to Sherwood Clarke. System-level encryption, password protection and regular software updates are maintained to safeguard personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

Time Machine Backups

The Mac device is backed up using Apple Time Machine. Backup storage is secured and access is restricted solely to Sherwood Clarke.

Appropriate technical measures are in place to ensure that backup data is protected.

Client confidentiality is fundamental to this practice.

Students, families, schools and adult clients are not publicly identified without explicit written consent.

Academic records, personal details and lesson content are treated as strictly confidential and are not shared with third parties unless required by law.

Current Students

​

Contact details and academic records are retained for the duration of the tuition relationship.

Former Students

​

Contact and academic records are retained for up to 6 years following the conclusion of tuition.


This aligns with UK contract law limitation periods and HMRC record-keeping requirements.

Contact details for individuals who enquire but do not proceed with tuition are retained for up to 24 months, unless a professional relationship is established.
